7 Ways to Help You have Christmas at Home in Style - 04/12/2009

Its December 1, and the countdown is well and truly underway. Whether you plan to go out for Christmas dinner, or host it on your home, invariably you will have more visitors come through your home at this time of year.

Here are 7 things You can do to get Your Home and Yard ready for the Festive Season.

1- De-clutter.
If you have excessive amounts of stuff in your yard, now is a good time to move them out of sight and out of the way. Perhaps in the garden shed, or garage while the busy season is here, or even take a few things to the tip.

2- Trim.
Get into the garden with some shears and cut back the overgrown bushes and hedges, cut off dead or dying branches from trees, and see how much extra space you can create. Sometimes, the illusion of space from removing those extra branches can be all you need.

3- Grow your Own.
Make a Raised Herb and Vegie Garden and have fresh herbs to create your Christmas Lunch or Dinner. Not sure how to make one? Have a look at our Herb and Vegie Garden Kit.

4- Mulch.
Add fresh Barks and Mulches to your garden beds, this will keep the moisture in and the weeds out, it will also make your gardens and yard feel cleaner.

5- Pave.
Create extra space for your friends and family with a courtyard or patio for extra seating and eating areas. Take the time to work it into your plan for your yard and you will add value to your home for the longterm.

6- Shade.
Build a Pergola from treated timber then add shade cloth to provide an inexpensive shade area for your friends to sit under.

7- Enjoy!
After all the preperation you have done, take the time to sit back and enjoy the benefits your hard work will bring, not just for this season, but for years to come.

Happy Landscaping and Merry Christmas!
