DIY - Water Feature - 19/02/2009Tips and Hints from the Centenary Staff. Darcy Pollard is our Fleet Supervisor and this week I went out with him on a delivery to the current Centenary Highway Upgrade Project. We talked about the renovations he's done in his own home, and one thing that struck me was the water fountain he built himself for a few hundred dollars. He saw a water feature in a garden shop and really like the look and style, so decided he would go ahead and build one for himself, here's a run down on what he did and how he did it. Karen: What made you choose Besser Blocks for the water feature? Karen: What were the steps in putting it together? I used a water resistant 'tar-like' paint for the internal coating, and made a mix of sand and cement to do the render. Then I simply painted the render to the colour I liked. Karen: What would you say was the most difficult part of the project? Karen: What comments do your friends have on the feature? And why wouldn't they? Darcy has done a great job with the 'humble' Besser Block to achieve a fantastic result.
